Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues when connecting to or using the InfoTrack MCP Gateway, the following common problems and solutions may help.

Common Issues

SymptomResolution
Connection refusedVerify the server URL is correct and your network allows outbound HTTPS to the endpoint. Contact the InfoTrack MCP Services team if the issue persists.
401 UnauthorizedCheck that your API key or Bearer token is valid and correctly formatted in the Authorization header. Ensure MCP enablement has been configured on your account.
Tools not appearingEnsure your client supports MCP tool discovery. Try restarting the client to refresh the connection. Contact the InfoTrack MCP Services team if tools remain unavailable.
Elicitation not workingCheck that your client has MCP elicitation support enabled. If not supported, the Gateway will fall back to chat-based prompting automatically.

Debugging Tips

  • Verify your authentication credentials are valid and not expired
  • Confirm your IP address is included in the allowlisted ranges for production environments
  • Test with an elicitation-capable client to verify full Gateway functionality
  • Check the tool discovery response to confirm your server configuration is active
  • Restart your MCP client to force a fresh connection and tool discovery cycle
